515 Sunny Ln, El Sobrante : 515 Sunny Ln, El Sobrante I seem to have a thing for quirky houses, and my agent seems to know it. He called me Friday to tell me I had to see this house. It is very unique. Not a big fan of all of the paneling, which would have to come down. And the kitchen needs work. The rest of it appears to be in great shape, in spite of the funkiness. It's priced low per sq. ft, but it would have to go lower given what would be required. We'll see. I kind of like it, though.

4831 Morhead Dr., Richmond, CA : 4831 Morhead Dr, Richmond, CA This was a perfectly nice home. Things generally seemed in good shape, all except the room and some of the front trim. The neighborhood looks to be nice, with other well kept homes, it's got a two-car garage, air conditioning... Completely capable but not terribly exciting.

2319 Collins Ave, Pinole, CA : Photos of home at 2319 Collins Ave, Pinole, CA. Collins Ave is a street off of Pinole Valley Road. I failed to snap a photo of the front. Front needs paint, esp. the trim. Oddly, the A/C unit sits in front of the house. Attached two car garage with entry into the dining room. Plus side here is location. Downside is the bathroom situation and the potential for structural issues with the high-side wall. The second bath has no shower, and the master 3/4 bath is small, but has potential to be knocked out. Lots of value to add easily in the kitchen. (I've been watching too much HGTV.)

632 Vallejo Ave, Crockett, CA : This home is at 632 Vallejo Ave, in Crockett. Biggest drawback? Crockett's getting pretty far out. (Far enough out that consideration of Crockett probably justifies consideration of other outlying East Bay areas.) Now, this is an interesting place. It's in an older, but seemingly very well maintained neighborhood. No Crockett smells, though my agent informed me that the C&H Sugar plant was the more likely source of any smells than the refineries over the hill, largely due to the winds. Lots of new, dual-paned windows throughout this house. Structurally, the house, despite its age, appears to be good, and there are some indications of previous seismic retrofitting. Big, corner lot, but it's tiered. Hot tub would have to go -- I wouldn't use it and I don't want to maintain it. Fence needs to be fixed. Bonus room downstairs would be a great dedicated office.
